Noteringar:
2008-07-08 16:55 IWC: By Josh Raynolds Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jan/Feb 07 ($82) Ruby-red. Classic Cornas on the nose, with strong scents of red berries, cherry, blackcurrant, smoked meat, candied violet, anise and minerals; this has all the syrah food groups covered. Dense and sweet, with impressively concentrated red and dark berry flavors, bright minerality and fine-grained tannins. Finishes sweet and long, with strong fruit and just the slightest hints of game and earth. Clape describes this one as "delicate, but absolutely Cornas." 93 points
2008-07-08 16:55 WA: There are always two cuvees of Cornas, and like some of the most traditional producers I taste, the wines are often better out of bottle than the barrel and/or foudre samples. That is the case with 2004, where both wines revealed significantly more flavor and intensity than they did last year. The 2004 Cornas, which is essentially a selection of their older vines, has zesty acidity, an opaque purple color, full-bodied power, and wonderful sweet blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with some smoke, scorched earth, and new saddle leather. It’s a beauty, rich, full, and while accessible, it promises to last for 12-15 years. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 524-1524
2008-07-08 16:55 Grappe: 18 Stor aromatisk doft med viss rökighet och nyanserade aromer av viol och choklad. Kryddig, frisk och sträv, ren smak med rökighet och fin koncentration.
2008-07-08 16:55 WS: Dark and muscular, this is loaded with dark bramble, bittersweet cocoa, currant and game notes that rumble through a tar- and tapenade-filled finish. Built uncompromisingly for the cellar. Best from 2009 through 2017. 1,500 cases made. –JM
